ANCSU new team takes over charge

Kohima, November 20: The newly elected team of All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) office bearers for the tenure 2019-2021 led by Vimeyiekho Vitso as president and Imnameren N Jamir as general secretary took over charge today.
They were elected during the recently held 19th biennial general conference at Zunhheboto. The other executive council include vice president – Inato Y Chisho, assistant general secretary – Inagha Kinny, finance secretary – Edward Nring, social & cultural secretary – Imtinaro Imsong, educations ecretary – Keneitsituo Kense, information & publicity secretary Aochuba P Jamir, magazine secretary – Kahovi Rochill, games & sports secretary – Tenyesinlo Bukh and women coordinator – Lika A Zhimo.
The union assembly comprises of Toito D Chishi as speaker, S Topeka Yeptho as deputy speaker and Viketouno Nikhi as assembly secretary. H Kivika Achumi is the auditor general.
The official handing and taking over of the files was conducted Wednesday at NSF Conference Hall in the presence of senior ANCSU leaders.
Exhorting the gathering, former NSF president Kesosul Christopher Ltu expressed hope that the new team would sincerely take forward ANCSU in the interest and welfare of students community. He also asked them to remain strong and have the determination and sacrificial attitude to take up the cause of the college students’ community.
He said as leaders they should not consider themselves as elected officials but elected volunteers to work for the general welfare. Ltu appealed to them to uphold ANCSU’s interest and deliver justice.
Incoming president Vimeyiekho Vitso delivering short speech conveyed that the new team is committed to the welfare of students’ community. He sought the cooperation and support of the senior leaders towards achieving the common interest.
Outgoing president Katho P Awomi clarified the social media rumours on the process of election for the new team, saying that it was conducted peacefully and all fair manner. He said that some complaint was received on the election of new team, but ANCSU had thorough examined it and cleared all doubts.
Asking the new team to give their sincere contribution for the uplift of students’ community, Awomi asserted them all possible support from the outgoing team and the seniors.
Associate Pastor of Kohima Ao Baptist Arogo, Tiatoshi Longkumer offered dedicatory prayer for the new team.
Chaired by outgoing vice president Benjong Lonchar the programme commenced with prayer by Pithungo Shitio. Outgoing women coordinator Meyitula tendered vote of thanks.
