ANCSU dharna held at Zbto, Wokha


Zunheboto, August 11: In support and solidarity of the All Nagaland College Students’ Union demand, the Zunheboto Government College Students Union and Khelhoshe Polytechnic Kohima held peaceful dharna and submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister through the Deputy Commissioner Zunheboto on August 10.
Along with the land encroachment issue of Kohima Science College, separate nodal cell and permanent settlement for scholarship and demarcation wall for district Government colleges, it also asked the Government to intervene and settle the Zunheboto and Khelhoshe polytechnic land encroachment issue.
Demand also was put on up-gradation of Khelhoshe polytechnic Atoizu to a degree course institution.
Wokha: In Wokha District, the dharna passed off peacefully. The programme was chaired by Jhanroni Patton, former women coordinator of ANCSU.
Speaker of ANCSU, Pithungo Shitio apprised the Kohima Science Jotsoma land encroachment issue, permanent settlement of scholarship issue, to set up separate nodal cell/department for all scholarship schemes and Mt. Tiyi College land be demarcated and fenced /concrete wall to be erected under the demarcated land.
In solidarity to the demands made by the ANCSU, the Lotha Students’ Union (LSU), Mt. Tiyi College Students’ Union and Baptist College Students’ Council representatives spoke in support of the demands made by ANCSU. The college representatives and ANCSU officials submitted a memorandum to CM (through proper channel) after the dharna.(Page News Service)
