Dimapur, August 2: The All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) commemorated its 41st foundation day though virtual connect on August 2.
Addressing the fraternity of colleges and well wishers, ANCSU president Vimeyiekho Vitso conveyed greetings through a virtual video clip. In his message, he paid tribute and respect to the pioneers and former leaders of the union.
Recollecting the establishment of the union in the year 1979 on August 2, he said that the day is a historic day for colleges’ students. He thanked the units of ANCSU, college authorities, faculties and all well wishers on the momentous occasion and further beseeched their support in the future endeavors of the union.
It has been a yearly programme where students from all colleges come together to celebrate the foundation day, but with the prevailing pandemic and the lockdown in the State, ANCSU celebrated its foundation day through virtual connect. An electronic bulletin was also released on the occasion.
It may be mentioned that since 2018, ANCSU started to felicitate University degree toppers on its foundation day. However, due to the pending final year exams, the same could not be done this year.
With the completion of 41 years, ANCSU president expressed confidence that it will fortify their commitment towards the cause and welfare of the students’ community. (Page News Service)
