DIMAPUR, JANUARY 20: The All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) has requested Nagaland Government to not to force student to take COVID-19 vaccine without their consent.
In a letter to Chief Secretary J Alam, the Union stated that the January 8 notification issued by the State Government mandating students to be vaccinated in order to get admission or attend regular/offline classes “has put massive mental trauma and emotional stress on the student fraternity”.
“Toward this, the ANCSU appeals to your competent authority to refrain from such undemocratic practices as no students should force to take vaccine without their consent at all cost and it should be individual choice and will, so that the academic career of the students are not hampered nor jeopardised.
“The ANCSU is of confident that your authority will take the matter on priority and introduce standard measures to tackle the situation which does not compromise quality of education but ensure meritocracy”, the letter read.
