Ambulance service for Covid Vaccination Outreach Session in Urban areas launched

Dimapur, June 8: Chief Medical Officer Dimapur, Dr I Moatemjen launched an ambulance service for Covid Vaccination Outreach Session in Urban areas at S D Jain School, Marwari Patti. The Ambulance Service was initiated by Jain Samaj Dimapur in collaboration with CMO Office Dimapur to accelerate the Covid vaccination.


Narender Jain, Secretary, SD Jain Charitable Clinic stated that the Jain Samaj was pleased to collaborate with the CMO office in the fight against the Covid pandemic. He also expressed his gratitude towards the health department for allotting a vaccination center at Jain Charitable Center. He hoped that the ambulance service will help to speed up covid vaccination especially in urban areas.
He also urged the participants to give a round of applause to all the donors to show appreciation for their generosities and social astuteness.
Om Prakash Sethi, President, Jain Samaj also reassured that the Jain Samaj is eager and willing to continue their support to the Medical Department and urged the Department to contact the Samaj for any future health activities without hesitation.
Dr. Moatemjen stated that it is very difficult to be prepared for any pandemic or disaster, however, when community such as Jain Samaj comes forward to assist the Department and take social responsibilities, one can definitely overcome any kind of pandemic or disaster.
He lamented that the local people are not forthcoming towards the Covid-19 vaccine and instead spread rumors and misinformation, while majority of the non-locals are availing the vaccine. And thus, as per data, most of the Covid deaths were locals who were not vaccinated, he said adding, very few Covid deaths were reported from the non-local communities.
He further stated that through the Covid19 pandemic, ‘the good, the bad, and the ugly’ side of many individuals and organizations can be seen, however, the pandemic has also brought our communities closer and together we will defeat the pandemic.


He informed that Jain Samaj has always been working with the Medical Department not only during this pandemic but also in the fight to eliminate Polio, and vector borne diseases in the past. He hoped that the Jain Samaj would continue their good deed and continue to collaborate with the department in the future as well.
The program was chaired by Dr. Rebecca, DPO, UIP/RCH and other officials attending the programme were Dr. Benchilo, DTO Dimapur and Rajesh, UNDP. After the programme, CMO formally launched the Ambulance service.
