Dimapur, May 18: The Government of Nagaland has notified that all persons entering the State from May 18 onwards, irrespective of place of origin of journey shall undergo 14 days institutional quarantine at designated centres and thereafter proceed for 14 days mandatory home quarantine.
This is in partial modification of the earlier Standard Operation Procedure (SOP) issued by the Government whereby it was notified that persons entering the State from orange/green zones will undergo only 3 days of institutional quarantine. This decision of the Government had received flak from various quarters.
In an order issued today, Chief Secretary, Temjen Toy IAS also notified that persons above the age of 60 years, children below the age of 10 years, parents and pregnant women and accompanying spouses shall be thoroughly screened and on the advice of the medical team at the quarantine centre be sent for mandatory home quarantine for 28 days with active surveillance.
However, the order said the modifications will not apply to persons who have already entered the State before May 18 from orange/green zones and have not crossed red zones en route to the State. All other provisions of the SOP shall continue to be in effect, the order said. (Page News Service)
