All 613 COVID-19 samples from Nagaland tested negative

Dimapur, April 26: All suspected COVID samples sent from Nagaland for test so far has returned negative.
In a briefing on status of COVID-19 in the State as on Sunday, Principal Secretary, Home, Abhijit Sinham IAS said out of a total of 613 samples of suspected cases sent for testing from the State till 3 pm on Sunday, the results of all samples have been received and all are negative.
He also informed that presently a total of 36 persons are under facility quarantine in the State.
As regard the surveillance activities being carried out in the containment zone in Dimapur in connection with the COVID-19 positive person of Dimapur detected in Guwahati, he said till now a total of 5,667 persons have been interviewed, covering 1005 households. Further in connection with the positive case a total of 427 samples have been sent from the State for testing and all have tested negative.
Sinha also informed that the position of availability of food grains, medicines, POL and other essential commodities continue to be normal in the State.
On the law & order front, the Principal Secretary informed that there were no violations of lockdown & curfew orders in the State on Sunday.
As for essential goods, groceries and other food shops including milk shops were open in all the districts except in Wokha, Mokokchung, Longleng and Kiphire.
According to the report, suitable arrangements have been made for providing food, shelter to migrant workers affected by restriction in four active relief camps where 439 migrant labourers are housed. More than 700 daily wagers and needy persons were also provided food and relief from 3 food camps except Dimapur, Mon, Peren and Wokha, he informed.
