AKMWP welcomes 7-day total lockdown in Kohima

Kohima, July 23: The Association of Kohima Municipal Wards Panchayat (AKMWP) while welcoming the 7-day total lockdown from July 25 in Kohima has expressed grateful to the state government, HPC, DC Kohima and the Kohima District Task Force in according serious attention to public health and the ever increasing apprehensions in the minds of common man against the spread of COVID-19.
“The declaration of Total Lock down in the municipality of Kohima is much appreciated and shall have our complete cooperation,” stated a release issued by AKMWP president Neibulie Kiewhuo, general secretary Thejao Sekhose and legal advisory Hukato Chishi. “It is hoped that the time relief will help in containing the disease and addressing leakages through effective contact tracing so as to enable us to have a semblance of normalcy and continue with our lives,” they said.
In this regard, AKMWP also reminded the citizens to help themselves best by staying home and strictly adhering to the instructions of the authorities.
The AKMWP maintained that any or every lockdown will only be effective as much as the citizens allow it to be, Wards Panchayats are conscious of it and shall strive to ensure a successful lockdown, considering the enormous costs incurred and our collective safety at stake.
