Ajay Devgn, Kajol and Saif Ali Khan’s period drama ‘Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior’ has been on a juggernaut run in the domestic circuit. The Om Raut directorial looks unstoppable as it has been galloping towards new box office records.
‘Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior’ which has already surpassed the Rs 250 crore mark seems to become the fifth-highest film earning film in the sixth week of all time, according to the latest Box Office India report. The period drama is expected to end its sixth week around Rs 4.75-5 crore right behind Vicky Kaushal’s ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’, Sunny Deol’s ‘Gadar: Ek Prem Katha’, Ayushmann Khurrana’s ‘Badhaai Ho’ and Prabhas’ ‘Baahubali 2: The Conclusion’.
Ajay’s ‘Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior’ which earned Rs 115.28 crore in its first week itself has reached a stupendous total of Rs 263.34 crore. Here is the weekly break down of the period drama’s collection:
Week One – 115.28 crore
Week Two – 77.87 crore
Week Three- 38.48 crore
Week Four – 19.31 crore
Week Five – 8.90 crore
Week Six- 3.40 crore (4 days)
‘Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior’ is based on the life of Tanaji Malusare, unsung warrior of glorious Indian history and the military leader in the army of Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, founder of the Maratha Empire. Meanwhile, Ajay is currently gearing up for his next project which is a biopic on football legend Syed Abdul Rahim. The film is titled as ‘Maidaan’ and Ajay’s first look from the film has already become the talk of the town. Apart from that, he also has the war drama ‘Bhuj: The Pride Of India’ in his kitty.
Meanwhile, on the other hand, Aditya Roy Kapur and Disha Patani’s romantic thriller ‘Malang’ has gone on to mint Rs 1.50 crore which has taken its total collection to Rs 47 crore approximately. The report further suggests that the Mohit Suri directorial is having a good run in the domestic circuit and end somewhere around the Rs 50 crore mark at the box office.
