AGARTALA, APRIL 29: Air Deccan will start the Kolkata-Dimapur flight service via Shillong and Agartala from May 1 under the regional air connectivity scheme of Ude Desh Ke Aam Nagrik (UDAN).
The company, which is resuming services in the Northeast after it had withdrawn operations in 2007, ran a test flight that landed successfully at the Umroi airport from Agartala on Thursday. Airport Authority of India (AAI) officials said initially a 19-seater will operate between Kolkata and Dimapur. It will start from Kolkata at 7.50 a.m. and makes stops at Agartala and Shillong en route to Dimapur. It will return to Kolkata at 3 p.m. on the same day. The flight will be available on all days except Sunday. (TNN)
