Agri officials trained on office management


Dimapur, May 17: A 2-day state level training on office management for officers & Ministerial staff was held at Agriculture Directorate conference hall on May 15&16.
Director of Agriculture, M. Ben Yanthan said office maintenance and other managements was a long felt need particularly for serving officers and staffs. He encouraged the participants to be dedicated and attentive during the training and to avail the opportunity by participating actively and clearing doubts if any so that one can go back confidently to their respective work place and efficiently execute their work and duty. He also exhorted the officers to maintain proper etiquette in the work place and show politeness and respect while dealing with farmers and also with colleagues in order to maintain the good image of the department.
During the two days training topics like office procedures, maintenance of files including noting, drafting etc., receipt &dispatch, letter writing, different types of dak, service matters, office management, conduct rules 1968, leave rules, establishment/administrative matters etc. budget allotment/monthly expenditure statement, reconcilation, MR Bill, accounts matter, pay bill preparation, cash book maintenance, less drawn arrear bill preparation etc. New Pension Scheme (NPS), banking, insurance, mutual funds, NPS etc, service book maintenance, determining of date of birth, merit cum seniority, and maintenance of APAR. Pension &GPF, fixation of initial pay statement (IPS) pay fixation, annual increment etc., Right to Information (RTI), personal information management system (PIMS) were taught.
Resource persons were Renchamo Ovung, Retd.Addl.Secretary, R.Andreas, Under Secretary, Justice & Law Department, Tenuyangla, Accounts Officer, Directorate of Agriculture, Chumchamo,UDA, Tohoto, Jr.Account Asst. Treasuries & Accounts Department, Chenio Lotha Financial Education, Kopeninthong, AAO-Pension, Shen Sphunu Koh, AAO-GPF Accountant General (AG), Shiluwati, Retd.Jt.Secretayr, Akum Jamir, Advocate & L.C., Kezhaleto PIMS Asst.
Altogether 150 members attended the training, organized by the Department of Agriculture.
