After NSF protest, PHED postpones exam

Nagaland News

DIMAPUR, JANUARY 12: Amid protest by the Naga Students’ Federation (NSF), the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) has postponed its departmental exam, which was scheduled for January 13.

In an official letter, the Principal Secretary to the government of Nagaland, MK Mero, stated that he has been instructed by the Minister for PHED to postpone till further notice the exam for LDA-cum-Computer Assistant.
Earlier on Monday, the NSF had called for a ‘ban’ of the said exam, asserting that it cannot allow the proposed exam to take place as it undermines the very principle of meritocracy.
“Further, it defeats the very principle of providing a level playing field to everyone aspiring to serve the state government as a Group C employee by constituting the NSSB. In light of the above, the federation is constraint to warn the department concerned that if any actions in defiance of the above stated stand of the federation are initiated, the officials of the department shall be held solely responsible for any unwanted consequences thereafter,” it had stated.
