After brief rest, Nagaland Health Department braces for 2nd wave of COVID-19

Dimapur, April 6: In view of the impending second wave of COVID-19, a meeting was held on Tuesday at the Directorate of Health and Family Welfare, Kohima to review the present status as well as assess the level of preparedness.
A press release from the department informed that Dr. Kevichusa Medikhru, Principal Director, highlighted the importance of the meeting to determine the preparedness of the State for the impending second wave.
He pointed out that despite the “ample time to prepare for the first wave of COVID-19, there have been lots of loopholes and difficulties to combat”. We have had a brief period of rest but now it is time to prepare ourselves with our experience we had faced earlier, he said.
Dr. Nyan Kikon, State Nodal Officer IDSP, highlighted the treatments and protocols of COVID-19 and Dr. Ritu Thur, State Immunization Officer UIP, gave a presentation on the overview of COVID vaccination.
All Chief Medical Officers, Medical Superintendents and Principal PMTI attended the meeting. (Page News Service)
