Advisors take stock of lockdown measures in Kohima

Nagaland News

Dimapur, June 4: To oversee and take stock of the lockdown measures put in place in Kohima district, Advisors for Urban Development and Municipal Affairs, Dr Neikiesalie Nicky Kire and Advisor for Technical Education and Election, Medo Yhokha along with EAC Kevinguto Kulnu went around Kohima town area today.

During their inspection, the advisors observed that the district administration, police and medical team were doing a good job and appreciated them. They said the majority of the town /city dwellers, notwithstanding the hardships faced, were positively responding to the collective call of total lockdown, which was a welcome sign. They also observed with regret that a number of people and vehicles were out, simply loitering to and fro taking undue advantage of the window days relaxed to facilitate public conveniences, adding much to the crowding and queuing of vehicles, thereby entailing risk.
The advisors said that dedicated and responsible volunteers have to be assigned to manage and monitor the movement of public specially on window/partially relaxed days in areas under the purview of the wards and colonies.
To extend their appreciation and solidarity, the team also visited Jubilee Memorial Centre, Lerie offered by Kohima Ao Baptist Church for quarantining of health care workers and had an interaction with the frontline workers (nurses from NHAK) stationed at the centre. (Page News Service)
