Kohima, June 6: Advisor for CAWD and Taxes Kudecho Khamo today felicitated student toppers and international wrestling medalist Vekhonielu Curhah from the 18th Chozuba Assembly Constituency.
The felicitation programme was held at the Advisor’s residence in Kohima, wherein NBSE Toppers – Metsilu Swiho (HSLC Top 7b), Arolu Phesao (HSLC Top 9c), Velu Thelu-o (HSLC Top 15c), and Vetolu Yomi (HSLC Top 18a) and, Bronze Medalist, at UWW Belt Wrestling Asian Championship 2023 at Jizzakh, Uzbekistan were honoured.
Addressing the brief event, MLA of Chuzuba A/C, Khamo congratulated the achievers stating that their achievement is an inspiration to many and told them to be role models for others not only in their studies but throughout their life.
He said the feat that Curhah has brought for the Nagas as the first lady to win the international medal is a huge accomplishment. He wished her well for future endeavours.
The Advisor told the student toppers that their achievement is a blessing of God and he stated that not only their families but the whole Chakhesang community is proud of them.
Khamo also reiterated his aim to empower the youth with employment and empowerment of the youth he said to felicitate the achievers he felt is much of his responsibility to encourage the young people.
Chairperson of Mewi School Kohima, Neibunuo K Kotso also exhorted the achievers to commit their plans to God and to live a purpose driven life.
Rev Dr Vevo Phesao, Senior Pastor CBCKMH acknowledged the initiative of the Advisor and family stating that it is a first of its kind. He also advised the students to be fearful of God and be aggressive in their studies, keep a healthy body and live a Godly life.
