Kohima, May 24: Advisor for Rural Development, Dr Neikiesalie Nicky Kire along with NLA Speaker Vikho-o Yhoshu today inaugurated the Mima Village Barü Bridge conducted through the funding of Rural Development Department.
Addressing the gathering, Dr Nicky Kire said the construction of the bridge would ease the problem of faced by Mima Honey Village during the rainy season.
Laud the effort of village elders in extending a working hand during the construction of the steel fabricated bridge under Rural Department, he said small activities achieved should be appreciated.
Pointing that that there must be lots of such little activities required to improvement and development, he asserted to carry out work whenever and wherever possible.
Advisor for Horticulture, Mhathung Yanthan lauded the traditional bee keeping practice being preserved by the Mima villagers. He said that Mima is known for its underground bee keeping known throughout the world and therefore encouraged the villages to continue to uphold it.
Mima is the cradle of Honey Mission initiatives of the state government, he said while assuring the villagers to extend the support of his department towards promoting the village as Bee Tourism Centre.
Advisor for Water Resources, Irrigation and Flood Control, Namri Nchang said Naga people have mostly after easy money because the State has been receiving consolidated fund from the Centre but such funding has been stopped.
He therefore said that Naga people should follow suit the hardwork and dedication of Mima village towards enhancing their economy.
Pastor of Mima CRC, Kho-o Pfukha offered the dedicatory prayer while Mima Village Council Chairman Neichüzo Keyie delivered welcome address and GB Zhathose Keyie tendered the vote of thanks.
