ADC Noklak notifies

Dimapur, May 26: Additional Deputy Commissioner Noklak, M. Chaitanya Prasad, IAS has banned the sale and consumption of pan, gutkha and tobacco products. He has also strictly prohibited spitting in public places and institution as preventive measures to contain the spread of COVID-19 infections.
In an order, the ADC warned that defaulters will attract legal action under section 188 of the Indian penal code and under relevant sections of the National Disaster Management Act 2005.
In another order, the ADC directed all pet owners to prevent their pets from straying outside their respective home premises in order to prevent/reduce the risk of transmission of the disease.
Violation of this direction shall attract strict action against the owner as per the relevant section of National Disaster management Act 2005, the ADC said.
The ADC also notified that it is mandatory for all public to wear mask in public places. He warned that defaulters will be penalized under Epidemic Disease Act 1897 (IPC section 188).
The ADC further advised parents not to send children below 10 years of age, who are amongst the higher risk category, for errands in the town area. (Page News Service)
