Dimapur, September 9: Assisi Centre for Integrated Development (ACID) commenced its Micro Enterprise Development Programme (MEDP) programme on detergent making on Tuesday here at the centre’s office for 30 members. The programme is being carried out with the support of NABARD.

During the inaugural session, S.C. Sahoo, DGM, NABARD Regional Office, Dimapur said that skills that one learns is never a waste but it always enhances the individual and when a woman learns it, she shares it with others.

He said that the team at ACID has the knowledge to make use of skills and impart others. He lauded ACID for conducting such programmes continuously.

Earlier, Sr Pramila Lobo UFS, Director, ACID, in her welcome address expressed that ACID remains ever grateful to NABARD for their constant support to the organisation to uplift women through different skill development training programmes like formation, promotion and nurturing SHGs.

NABARD has been supporting the organisation for conducting different need based programmes through MEDP in an attempt to bridge the skill deficit or to facilitate optimization of production activities already pursued by SHG members.

During the programme, dry rations were also distributed among the members. (Page News Service)
