ACAUT Nagaland supports demands of NEAN, NJDA

Dimapur, June 14: ACAUT Nagaland has supported the demand of the National Health Mission Employees Association, Nagaland (NEAN) and Nagaland Junior Doctors’ Association (NJDA) for immediate revocation of the State Cabinet decision, stating that it is smirked with dictatorial diktat that infringe into the fundamental right, of equality before law for deserving and qualified citizens.
In a press release, the ACAUT stated that on On 11th June 2020, the State Cabinet have decided to regularize 19 serving contract medical officers under Health and Family Welfare Department. Another 27 medical officers who were appointed purely on contingency basis just a fortnight ago, ie 27th May 2020 have been regularised through vide order No.HFW(A) COVID-19/Appt dated 13/06/2020.
The flimsy justification of “one time relaxation of laid down rules and procedures” for recruitment and regularization as stated by the High Powered Committee (HPC) is blatant nepotism which was pre-meditated to take undue advantage of the pandemic situation, it stated.
It stated that ACAUT filed WP.(C) No.(K)/2017 challenging backdoor appointments and regularizations as per OM dated 4.8.2008. By Judgement and Order dated 3.8.2018, the learned single Judge directed the State Government not to appoint and regularize the service of the employees who have completed 3 years of continuous service on contract/ad-hoc basis in terms of OM 11.8.2016 and 4.8.2008.
It said against this very Judgement and Order, the Nagaland State Government filed W.A.NO.16(K)2018, but the Court appeal was rejected and the Judgement & Order of the single Judge was upheld. Therefore the recent State Cabinet decision amounts to contempt of Court, it added.
The ACAUT appealed to all right thinking citizens to be on vigil and be ready to support our frontline health workers’ until this arbitrary Order is revoked.
