KKTD demands COVID test report of late Noksang
Dimapur, August 6: The Khar Students’ Union Dimapur (KKTD) has sought immediate attention of the Chief Medical Officer, Dimapur to provide the RT-PCR test result of Late Noksangtemjen, a bonafide citizen of Khar village, who expired on July 31.
The swab test and sputum of late Noksangtemjen were taken on July 31 after his death and he was tested COVID-19 positive by TrueNat but till now RT-PCR confirmation result is yet to be received from the concerned authority.
“Due to the non-confirmation of the result, his family members are at dilemma and going through a deep psychological crisis due to unwarranted stigma and discrimination from the society.
“How far can the deceased family be put under such mental trauma waiting for the BSL Lab Test. And while awaiting his test results, his family members and friends were called for COVID test on 5th Aug on the oral testimony that the deceased had tested positive,” said KKTD president Imtikokba Jamir and general secretary Bendangtemsu Aier.
Late Noksangtemjen had visited the COVID Hospital Dimapur on July 30 with COVID symptoms on the reference of a registered medical practitioner, but was not allowed to undergo COVID test.
The KKTD demanded the concerned authority to immediately provide the COVID test report of late Noksangtemjen so that all apprehensions and associated social aspersions can be put to rest and the family grief in peace. (Page News Service)
