7 NPF MLAs declare  support to PDA Govt

Dimapur, March 25: In a major political development, seven opposition NPF legislators have declared their support to the PDA Government as well as the ruling PDA consensus candidate of the lone Lok Sabha seat from Nagaland, Tokheho.
The 7 NPF MLAs are Kejong Chang of 54 Tuensang Sadar II A/C; EE Pangteang of 48 Moka A/C, Eshak Konyak of 47 Aboi A/C, CL John of 45 Tehok A/C, BS Nganlang of 49 Tamlu A/C, N. Thongwang Konyak of 46 Mon Town A/C and Toyang Chang of 53 Tuensang Sadar I A/C.
“We extend our fullest cooperation to the PDA Government and we also endorse the PDA Government’s stand as a facilitator to the ongoing Indo-Naga peace process for an early, honourable and inclusive political solution,” they said.
On the reason for declaring support to the PDA, the NPF MLAs said they appreciate all the developmental and progressive initiatives that have been undertaken till date by the PDA Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio.
“Ever since the PDA coalition was sworn in on 8th March 2018 to run the affairs of Nagaland, we have witnessed positive changes and restoration of the system of good governance which is in the greater interest of the people of Nagaland. We look forward to an era of stability with visionary and decisive leadership which is the need of the hour in Nagaland to facilitate the much-needed all-round development,” they were quoted as having said in a press release issued by the NDPP.
The NPF MLAs added that the absence of an NPF candidate in the Lok Sabha Elections 2019 and the decision to support the Congress is against the principle of regionalism and this development necessitated their decision to extend cooperation and support to the PDA consensus candidate and the PDA Government. NPF convenes emergency meeting
Dimapur, March 25: The Naga People’s Front (NPF) has convened an emergency meeting on March 30 at 11 am at Central Office, Kohima.
Convening the meeting, NPF president, Dr Shürhozelie Liezietsu requested all MLAs (Nagaland State), Central office bearers, CEC members, frontal cells office bearers, divisional presidents along with their working president and general secretary and all the 2018 NPF official candidates to attend the meeting without fail.
