Dimapur, February 3: The 7 Asssam Rifles Battalion, Kiphire under the aegis of HR 5 sector Assam Rifles organised a Medical Camp under “Operation Sadbhavana” at Phokphur Village, Kiphire on January 30 in collaboration with District Health Society & District Administration, Kiphire.
Dr. L Singson CMO, 7 Assam Rifles exhorted the villagers on the topic promotion of health. Dr. Pewezo Khalo, DIO Kiphire encouraged the parents to immunize their children for protection of vaccine preventable diseases.
Many children were immunized and pregnant mothers received ANC. Posters, pamphlets and leaflets were distributed to the Villagers.
Various free medical services like health checkups, essential medicines & health education on prevention and control of vector borne diseases, HIV/AIDs, Ante Natal checkups were offered. A total of 118 villagers, mostly women and children were treated.
Yantsuthong, Chairman Village Council, Phokphur, remarked that the medical camp has been a boon to the villagers, and expressed gratitude to 7 Assam Rifles, District Health Society & District Administration for their humanitarian service.
Dr. Dhenni, MO NCD, Kiphire, Dr. Hyunilo, MO, (Ayush), CHC Pungro and medical team comprising of Nurses, Lab Technician, Pharmacist, Consultant NVBDCP, DMO (NHM), assisted the camp.
CMO Kiphire, Dr E Motsuthung lauded the efforts of the 7th Assam Rifles in building partnership with the District Health Society and District Administration in reaching out to remote border area villages that have poor connectivity and limited access to health care.
