Dimapur, December 9: The 6th Odyutsü Ekhung general conference was held today at Wokha town hosted by Wokha Town Odyuo Ekhung (WTOE).
Er. Limhathung Odyuo, Chairman, WTOE in his greetings note had called upon the Odyuo Clan to seek the God blessing with humbleness for perception and prosperity. He also challenges the Odyuo parents to play a role for teaching their children to fear the Lord that can see many wonderful fruits.
Y Michael K Odyuo, while exhorting the gathering had called upon all to be exquisiteness of the Odyuo clan forefathers, of which some of the early traditional tools & ornaments were still preserving at Phiro, Pangti, Akuk and Bhandari. He further recounted the age old significance of the Odyuo star (Shantio), blowing of buffalo horn (Pvü-pvü) and enlightened the ups and downs of the Odyuo clan journey in the context of Lotha Naga.
During the programme the HSLC Toppers of 2021 and 2022 were also felicitated and awarded with cash and certificates.
Renchamo Odyuo, secretary and Amos Odyuo, Finance secretary both presented their tenure reports to the House. General discussion on the agendas were recommended for extending higher studies loan, making of Ekhung Logo/insignia and setting up of history committee with research scholars from among the clan.
New office bearers for the session 2023-2025 led by KM Odyuo, Chairman and Renchamo Odyuo, secretary along with other members and advisors were listed and declared by Wochamo Odyuo, Additional Commissioner of Taxes, Dimapur and Chairman of the search committee.
Earlier, invocation led by Shanjamo Odyuo, Sr. Assoc. Pastor, Yikhum Baptist Church. Dedication prayer of new office bearers by Rev. Thungjanshio Odyuo, Pastor, Phiro Baptist Church.
Other highlights of the event include presentation of special number by Mr. Chumbemo Odyuo of New Riphyim and Folk song by Odyuo Ekhung of Phiro Village. Vote of thanks presented by Yanpanthung Odyuo, Treasurer Odyutsu Ekhung and benediction by Yibemo Odyuo. The program concluded with feast provided by host unit blessed by Chanchio Odyuo.
