65th Pfuchatsumia Khel Day celebrated

DC Sote seeks cooperation

Kohima, January 24: The 65th Pfuchatsumia Khel Day of Kohima Village was celebrated with newly appointed Deputy Commissioner of Kohima, Thejawelie Gregory Sote, NCS as the special guest at Christ King School Kohima Village on Thursday.
Addressing the gathering, Sote called upon the P. Khel community to upkeep better understanding and the feeling of oneness and work in unison for all round development.
Sote, who also hail from P. Khel called upon the community to retrospect both the strengths and weakness over the years and adopt new approach to march ahead.
He also sought unflinching support from the public for the successful execution of Kohima smart city project including a proposed four lane road project touching Kohima village.
Quoting “Health is wealth”, he challenged the people to intensify cleanliness campaign and make clean and safe environment to live in.
Chairman of P Khel, Kruyie Pienyü encouraged the villagers to trust on God’s grace for the overall welfare of the village. Exhorting the youngsters of the Khel, he said they should choose the right and be hardworking to uphold the name of the khel. The chairman also urged upon one and all to take up the challenge of fighting the impact of climate change.
Exhortations were also shared by Vilie-o Rutsa on behalf of the Khel elders, Head GB Vineipra Pienyü and PMK President Vilazonuo Rutsa while P Hek Council Secretary Kelhousetuo Rutsa presented the secretarial report from 2016-19.
Council Chaired by P Khel Council vice chairman Dr Dziesekhrielie Pienyü the celebrations commenced with prayer by Meguo-o Mechüho. Folk song was presented by Peli No. 11 while Neimenuo Rame & friends enthralled with Tati pfhe.
Meanwhile, nomination committee convener Prasielie Pienyü announced the names of new team of officials. The list is as follows:

Pfuchatsumia Students Union Executive members for 2019-2020: President – Keduozotuo Rutsa, vice president – Keduokuolie Pienyü, general secretary – Neiphrevinuo Sote, joint secretary – Khriezohunuo Sote, Information and publicity secretary – Ruokuokhotuo Mere, Librarian – Seluokuolie Rutsa, Statistical Secretary – Nourhetuonuo Sote, Assistant Statistical Secretary – Angunuo Rutsa, Games & Sports Secretary – Ruokuovituo Mere, Assistant Games & Sports Secretary – Kevilezo Rame, Social and Cultural Secretary – Kelhousituo Pienyü, Catering Secretary – Ruokuolhoutuo Sote, Assistant Caterring Secretary – Ketsulhounuo Sote, Property Secretary – Khrieketouzo Pienyü and Assistant Property Secretary – Vizokhonuo Rutsa.
During the occasion, 28 elderly men and women above the age of 80 years were also honoured while also felicitating four individual were also felicitated for excellence – President’s Medal for Meritorious Service – Medozhale Pienyü, SDO Electrical Department, NPSC 2017 -Keduozotuo Rutsa, Junior Soil Conservation Officer, Department of Soil & Water Conservation, NPSC 2018 – Khriebeilie Pienyü and Doctor of Ministry from Shristian Academy for Advance Theopgical Studying, Tamil Nadu 2017 – Dr Mhalevilie Sote.
The celebration was marked by mass feast and variety show including DGP band.
