Dimapur, May 8: Six houses were gutted and properties worth Rs 6 lakhs were destroyed in a fire at V V J Stone Crushing unit near Naga Cemetery, Chumukedima on May 7 night.
As soon as the incident was reported, Fire Brigade personnel reached the spot and fought in dousing the fire. Fire Department sources said that 6 thatch houses were gutted in the fire incident destroying properties worth Rs 6 lakhs. However, they said properties worth Rs 3 lakhs were saved as they managed to prevent the fire from spreading.
The cause of the fire is due to short circuit, they said. (Page News Service)
