Dimapur, September 1: Dimapur police arrested two persons for extortion and issuing work permits to non-Naga labourers at National Highway Chumukedima on August 30. Police identified the two as Kuputo (27), ‘ss’ Under Secretary/ NSCN-K (Nikki) and Athrichum Sangtam (27), ‘ss’ Dy. Secretary NSCN-K (Nikki).
Again on August 30, two persons identified as Khevisha Kiba (37) and Azheto Kinny (37) were arrested while extorting money from truck drivers at Kevijau Colony, Dimapur.
Police also arrested two sympathizers of NSCN-K (Nikki) namely Vitoka Aye (23) and Ambo Yeptho (17) for extortion and issuing work permits to non-Naga labourers at Signal Bazaar area Dimapur on August 30.
5 drug peddlers held
On August 31, Dimapur police arrested 4 persons namely Smti Hiniru Poumai (45), Moon Saikia (25), Smti Zenitsu Rengma (49) and Saidul Islam Haiti (46) near the taxi stand, Dimapur and recovered/seized Tramadol Hydrochloride Acetaminophen and Dicyclomine Hydrochloride capsules – 4320 and suspected Herion – 25 soap boxes weighing a total of 300 grams (approx) from their possessions.
In this connection, a case has been registered and investigation is on.
Police also arrested one person Rajesh Thapa (40) from Railway Station, Dimapur on August 31 and recovered/seized suspected brown sugar – 4 plastic soap cases containing a total of 55 grams (approx) from his possession.
Vehicle recovered
Basing on a written FIR lodged at East PS, Dimapur on August 29, a stolen vehicle, Mahindra Bolero Pick-Up (AS01MC6266) was recovered at Khuzama through GPS tracking. On informing the police counterpart at Kohima, Khuzama Police recovered the stolen vehicle and apprehended one person namely, Kashing Peter (40). (Page News Service)
