Dimapur, June 27: Peren district administration has imposed total lockdown in the district from June 30 to July 5.
In an order, Deputy Commissioner of Peren, SentiwapangAier, NCS said in view of the large number of returnees from outside the State having completed their facility quarantine period within the district and following the SOPs being sent for community/home quarantine to their respective villages/wards and considering that many frontline workers have been engaged in managing the returnees, it is deemed necessary to take stringent precautions to prevent any unlikely incident that may result in local or community transmission.
During the total lockdown, movement of public shall be strictly prohibited; movement of private vehicles will be banned; all business/shops and trade activities shall remain closed; all social/political/religious gathering and functions will be prohibited; not more than 20 persons will be permitted in case of funerals and spitting in public places will be strictly banned, violation of which shall be punishable with fine.
The DC said only the exempted categories related to COVID-19 services such as medical, police, administration, all frontline workers involved in COVID-19 duty and those involved in farming activities and people on medical emergencies shall be allowed movement with necessary permit.
Only pharmacies will be allowed to open. However, all safety measures such as compulsory use of face mask, frequent hand washing/use of hand sanitizer and maintenance of social distancing shall be strictly adhered to while carrying out COVID-19 duties, the DC said. (Page News Service)
