5 fire incidents reported in 2 days

Dimapur, April 27: Five fire incidents were reported from across the State in two days — April 26 and 27 — according to the department of Fire and Emergency Services.


Tuli
Two houses were gutted at Teyong Ward, Tzudikong town in Mokokchung on April 27 after fire broke out due to an electrical short circuit. Cash amounting to Rs 30,000 and property worth Rs 2.84 lakh was lost. No casualty was reported.
Another fire broke out at 10th Mile near Railway Station, Tuli, in Mokokchung on April 26. Due to intervention of firefighters, fire was controlled and prevented from spreading further.
Wokha
Property worth Rs 3 lakh including plantations, were destroyed in a forest fire that broke out at Bhandari village in Wokha district on April 26. Cause of fire could not be ascertained. It took 1 hour and 5 minutes for the firefighters to douse the fire. Property worth Rs 5lakh could be salvaged.
Mokokchung
Two forest fire calls were received on April 26 at Sewak Gate. Fire and Emergency Services team from Fire Station Mokokchung proceeded to control the fire. Cause of fire was due to public carelessness. However due to intervention of firefighters, fire was controlled and prevented from spreading further.


Kohima
On receiving fire call at 4:38 pm on April 26, below NIELIT, Kohima, Fire and Emergency Services team from Fire Station Kohima (North) proceeded to control the fire. Cause of fire could not be ascertained. However due to intervention of firefighters, fire was controlled and prevented from spreading.
