5 Dimapur CSOs irked by Court’s restraining order on NCD

Nagaland News

DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 11: Five civil society organizations in Dimapur have voiced displeasure over the case filed against the Naga Council Dimapur (NCD) by some individuals, terming it as an attempt to jeopardize the integrity of the NCD that has been tirelessly contributing to the needs of the society for the past 71 years.
In a letter to the NCD president, the 5 CSOs – GBs (Sadar) Union Dimapur, Dimapur Urban Council Chairman Federation (DUCCF), Naga Women Hoho Dimapur, Dimapur Naga Students’ Union and Dimapur District Citizens Forum – expressed dismay that “few new comer members in Naga Council” had convinced the “civil judge to pass restraining order with malicious intention to sabotage the good image of the Naga Council office.”
“What turns out to be more disturbing is the fact that the civil judge was convinced to pass the restraining order after 32 days of case hearing,” the letter said.
The 5 CSOs maintained that the new NCD office bearers has been installed and approved with the required number of councilors present as per the constitution of the Naga Council. “And so the question of entertaining a consequent petition by the vested interest party for the same should not arise,” it said.
