Dimapur, July 15: In view of the inflating number of COVID-19 positive cases in Assam from where four districts – Mokokchung, Tuensang, Longleng and Zunheboto – imports most of its essential commodities, the trade bodies of the four districts have decided to temporarily restrict entry of vehicles transporting essential commodities from July 16 as precautionary measures.
MCCI president Tsukti Longkumer, TCCI president Dorothy Chang, LCCI president A Bonshi Phom and ZCCI president Kikheto Muru in a joint public information released today said the restriction will be lifted at the earliest. It requested the general public not to panic as there is enough stock of essential commodities in the four districts.
The four trade bodies informed the Government of Nagaland and the District Task Force on COVID-19 of the respective districts that the provisional restriction is being enforced in larger public interest and should not be construed as a contravention of laid down SOPs. (Page News Service)
