4 held will illegal arms

Dimapur, January 26: On the eve of Republic Day, Dimapur police arrested four persons will illegal arms from near the DDSC Stadium where the Republic Day function was scheduled on January 26.
Dimapur police informed that on January 25 police apprehended two persons identified as Vikheho Sema and Boto Kiba from DDSC Stadium area near Hotel Rajvir for illegally possessing one .32 pistol (Country made) and one magazine.
A case has been registered at West Police Station Dimapur.
In another case, police apprehended two persons identified as Kheto Sumi and Katoshe Yeptho from Amar Mill area in Ghorapatti area on January 25 for illegally possessing one .22 pistol (Country made) and one magazine.
A case has been registered at West Police Station Dimapur.
3 extortionist arrested
On January 25, Dimapur police apprehended one Vinato, a resident of Shikavi village, Dhansiripar from Peace Camp Dhansiripar area for collecting illegal tax from sand carrying trucks in the name of NSCN (IM) and recovered/seized Rs 800 from his possession.
On the same day, police apprehended two extortionist from Padumpukhuri area opposite NRL Petrol Pump, Dimapur for illegal collecting yearly vehicle tax from truck drivers in the name of NSCN(U) at the rate of Rs 2000 per truck, and on checking/frisking, Rs 5200 were recovered from their possession.
The accused have been identified as Peter Khing. ‘ss’ Khapur of NSCN (U) and James Bukh, ‘ss’ Khapur of NSCN (U), both resident of Church Colony, Niuland.
Accordingly, a case has been registered at East Police Station Dimapur.
Unidentified dead body
On January 26, police recovered one unidentified male dead body (around 40-45 years) suspected to be from Garo community from near the inner main entrance at platform, Railway Station, Dimapur. The cause of death is likely to be due to illness and no injury mark(s) could be ascertained, police said.
The deceased was later shifted to District Hospital Morgue for post-mortem examination and identification. Police requested claimant/ relatives/ friends of the deceased to contact Officer-in-Charge /GRPS, Dimapur.
