Dimapur, February 7: DC Mon, Thavaseelan K, IAS handed over Rs 50,000 each to four upcoming entrepreneurs in Mon town in a function held in the DC’s conference hall on February 6. The financial assistance for upscaling entrepreneurs was from the Department of Underdeveloped Areas (DUDA), Government of Nagaland.
The DC Mon encouraged the entrepreneurs to work harder and commented that their success story is a source of inspiration to the youth of Nagaland. He also thanked DUDA for extending assistance to deserving entrepreneurs.
The four entrepreneurs are: Minphao Konyak, who runs a cobber shop at Walo Ward, Mon town and is amongst the first Konyaks to start a cobbler shop in Mon town. Coming from a family where both his parents are farmers, Ahon Konyak studied up to HSLC and runs his barber shop with the help of an assistant in a rented room in Tompang Ward, Mon town. Yapang Konyak is a freelance photographer/videographer and graphic designer. He did not take up any professional training or course but his passion, hobbies and creativity brought him to where he is now. Chinglang Konyak is the founder and director of Mon School of Music. The school provides formal training to aspiring musicians and aims to be an institution where students can pursue music as a career.
