4 arrested for smuggling pigs from Assam

Dimapur, July 18: Four persons were arrested by Diphupar police today for smuggling 12 pigs from Assam. During transportation the animals in a Bolero pick-up, the four accused were apprehended from 3rd mile area in Dimapur, police said.
Talking to Nagaland Page, Officer-in-charge Diphupar Police Station S. Bokato Sumi said, “We arrested four of them from the Diphupar area and 12 pigs were recovered from them”.
All the four accused are from Dimapur and the investigation is going on, the OC said and added that they have not taken the National Highway route for transporting the pigs but there are other routes through which they were able to smuggle the pigs. (Page News Service)
