34 teams to compete in 23rd NSF Martyrs’ Memorial Trophy from today

Kohima, September 17: Altogether 34 teams will compete for the prestigious 23rd NSF Martyrs’ Memorial Trophy at Indira Gandhi Stadium Kohima under the theme ‘Goal for Peace’ from Monday.
The tournament organized by Angami Students’ Union (ASU) and played annually in honour of its martyrs’ Late Kekuojalie Sachü and Late Vikhozo Yhoshü will be played till October 14. The total tournament prize money is Rs.7 lakh.
The inaugural ceremony will be held at 4pm with Advisor for Youth Resources & Sports, S Keoshu Yimkhiung as the Inaugural Guest.
The inaugural match will be played between the defending champion New Market FC and 14 F.C.
Organizing Committee Convenor Mhasimhalie Mathew Yhome and ASU President Khriesamhalie David Mere in a release informed that as an acknowledgement to football lovers for the unwavering support over the years, the entry to witness the first match will be free.
They also invited all football lovers and well wishers to come and witness the tournament till the grand finale. (Page News Service)
