33 theologians graduate from Faith Theological Seminary

Kohima, June 1: Altogether 33 students cleared different theological studies from Faith Theological Seminary (FTS), Jotsoma. They were handed over the degrees and awards during the 10th convocation of the seminary by Principal of FTS Rev Dr Visielie Angami in the presence of NBCC general secretary Rev. Dr. Zelhou Keyho today.
In his valedictory message as the guest speaker, Rev Zelhou while expressing that ‘true spirituality is not only right biblical beliefs but right action’ also stressed on the essence of true Christian spirituality.
“Your achievement and success will not depend on the degrees and the amount of knowledge but on how well you translate these knowledge to the realities of other people’s lives,” he said.
“Your theological knowledge should be brought down to the level of struggles in your day to day life, level of successes and even failures,” he said.
These are the hard realities of life, he said adding that the moment you detach yourself from these realities, your message will lose its relevancy.
Expressing that the graduation event is not the end but is a commencement to a new beginning, Rev Keyho encouraged the theologians saying that the people they will serve are not interested in grades and degrees but are drawn towards their spiritual grade, inter-personal skills and lifestyles.
The people they will serve are more interested in ‘how you incarnate the gospel in your life; how you interpret the bible to your personal life so that it overflows into their lives’, he said.
Stressing on the essence of executing one’s beliefs beyond surface spirituality was stressed, Rev Keyho pointed out that the Christians are being blamed today for being too worldly ‘in our nature of doing church perhaps that is because we have stayed too far from God.’
