3 Naga bodies cry discrimination; See bias in transfer of RB Thong

Dimapur, February 7: The Rengma Hoho, the Pochury Hoho and the Zeliangrong Baudi have alleged discrimination and suppression of the rights and privileges of the minority communities in Nagaland.
In a joint meeting at Red Cross MC Hall, Kohima on January 31, the 3 Hohos resented the recent transfer of the senior most IAS of Nagaland cadre, RB Thong, IAS, Chief Secretary of Nagaland to the post of the newly-created Director General of ATI.
The Hohos questioned the grounds and circumstances around which the official has been transferred and expressed dismay over the matter. “The matter leads the concerned organizations to question if the humiliation being meted out to the concerned official is based on isms of subjugation and discrimination of minorities,” it said in a joint release.
The 3 Hohos also lamented the suppression of rights and the privileges of the minority communities, which the three Hohos felt is the greatest insult to democracy and humanity.
Stating that the 3 Hohos will not tolerate or remain silent to such discrimination and subjugation, it decided that if the situation so demands, a joint forum to fight and safeguard the interest of the minority communities will be formed in the near future.
