Kohima, July 24: Among the 21 COVID-19 patients detected in Kohima today, 3 are from outside the Quarantine Centres but are related to contact tracing of previous positive cases, State Health department officials informed.
The department official said that among the 21 cases, 13 are returnees in different quarantine centres and 7 are BSF personnel at Chedema while three from non-QC are one each in Chandmari, Naga Bazaar and New Minister’s Hill.
Kohima now stands at 299 confirmed cases but with 7 patients testing negative for the virus today, the active cases are 182 while 117 have recovered.
With today’s 3 non-QC detections, the state capital has at least 17 persons from different wards and villages are COVID-10 positive.
In view of the surge in COVID-19 patients and following pressure from various civil society organizations, the Kohima District Task Force on Thursday decided to impose a 7-day total lockdown with some exemptions on rare medical emergencies and government officers and departments engaged for the July 30 state Assembly session.
The total lockdown will be imposed from July 25 to 31. (Page News Service)
