Three finalists of Naga Chef Season-7 – Hechuba Chang, Peteneilhu Kulimbe and Chungmei Phom are competing for the coveted title at Naga Heritage Village Kisama.
The annual Naga Chef competition is organized by Synergy Group Enterprise supported by the Department of Tourism, Government of Nagaland.
Naga Chef is the pioneer culinary competition in Nagaland and the North-East that aims to promote Naga indigenous cuisine and to provide a platform to all Naga cooks who have a true passion to showcase the age-old Naga recipes to the world.
Altogether six Naga Cooks were selected from the Screening round this year and after several grueling rounds- Culinary Skills, Mystery Basket, Pressure Task, My Signature Dish, Just Desserts and Group Round at the Naga Chef in Mhachaki, Kohima, while only 3 cooks are currently competing in the Entrepreneurial Round being conducted at The Amphitheatre in Naga Heritage Village, Kisama from 1st to 9th December, 2019.
The judges of the competition have been judging on their authenticity, taste, presentation of the food, knowledge of the indigenous ingredients, team work, customer service of the contestants.
Visitors to Kisama can enjoy the different Naga indigenous cuisine prepared by the upcoming Naga chef, while also supporting the contestants.
The final result will be declared on December 10 during the valedictory function of the Hornbill Festival 2019.
The winner of Naga Chef Season 7 will walk away with a cash prize of Rs. 3 lakhs, while the finalists will receive lots of gifts and additional benefits to pursue their culinary dreams.
