Dimapur, April 17: In the week that ended on April 17, Nagaland registered 3 COVID-19 deaths and 116 fresh cases, after 7 straight weeks without a single fatality attributed to the virus.
According to the State Health Department’s weekly data, 3074 samples were tested out of which 116 returned positive, providing a weekly positivity rate of 4%.
The monthly positivity rate of 4.4% is the highest this year. In January it was 3.6%, followed by 2% and 2.3% in February and March respectively.
Out of the 116 cases, 76 were traced contacts/self-test, 35 travellers, 4 armed forces/security personnel and 1 frontline worker.
The State recorded the highest vaccination in a single week with 37,293 doses administered the past week, it informed. In addition to health facilities, vaccination centres were set up in workplaces and prominent places in the community.
Till date, 99% of doses have been administered in public facilities, it added.
