Kohima, August 26: Dimapur district today emerged as the champion of football competition of 2nd Nagaland Olympic and Paralympics Games (NOPG) organized by Nagaland Football Association (NFA) at Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima.
Playing in floodlights in front of the capacity crowd, Dimapur found two early goals through Shürhosul and Toka in the 7th and 10th minute of the game. The newly created district Tseminyu also responded with the equalizers in the 34th and 41st minute through Yhunshalo and Calvin to end the first half in a 2-2 goal draw.
After the lemon break, it was Aloumai netting the lead for Dimapur in the 65th minute but Tseminyu once again found the equalizer within the next four minute from the boots of Hyulozü.
Nonetheless, Shürhosul struck the ultimate goal with his second goal and fourth for the team in the 70th minute to win the gold. Tseminyu had to be satiated with silver.
Earlier, playing the third place match, Peren district defeated Phek 2-1 to win the bronze medal.
