2nd Kohima District Inter School Tournament

Loyola HSS, Mt. Sinai enter semi-final

Kohima, July 4: Loyola Higher Secondary School, Jakhama and Mt. Sinai School defeated their respective rivals in today’s matches to book berth for final match in Pool ‘A’ of the ongoing 2nd edition of Kohima District Inter School Football Tournament at Kohima Local ground here.
In the first quarter final, Loyola HSS blanked Don Bosco HSS by three goals. Keduhoto opened the account in the fifth minute. Don Bosco netted an own goal in the 58th minute and Kiren Thasusow sealed the win with the third goal in the 68th minute. Gunling of Loyola was penalized with a yellow card for unsporting behavior in the 70th minute.
Playing a closely contested second quarter final match, Mt Sinai School defeated St Paul Phesama by 2-1. Moses Marak found the lead for Mt Sinai in the 17th minute but Mhasineizo equalized for St Paul in five minutes later to end the first half on level ground. After much effort, Toshisongzung scored the winner for Mt Sinai in the 56th minute.
During the match four players, two each from both sides, were cautioned for unsporting behavior. (Page News Service)
