29 Jangpetkong A/C NDPP threatens to sue NPCC for allegations of booth-capturing plans

Nagaland News

DIMAPUR, APRIL 16: The NDPP unit of 29 Jangpetkong Assembly Constituency in Mokokchung district has threatened Nagaland Congress with legal recourse if the latter fails to substantiate its allegation that NDPP-BJP workers were planning to capture polling booths at 29 AC, among other places.
In a letter to the Deputy Commissioner of Mokokchung, the regional party unit expressed shock at the “wild allegation” levelled by Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee.
“Whereas, we would like to reiterate that throughout our campaign trail for the PDA consensus candidate, we have always stressed and advocated for free, fair and peaceful polls in the constituency. We deem the allegation as a well-calculated strategy of the Congress party to vitiate and malign our party, with the malicious intention to gain unfair advantage by creating fear psychosis in the minds of the electorate.
“While condemning such cheap and malafide political manoeuvres, the office of the NDPP, 29 Jangpetkong A/C appeal to your most abled office to notify the Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee to produce proof and substantiate their allegation before the polling date”, read the letter.
If the NPPC fails to substantiate its allegation, “we will be compelled to seek legal remedies”, it added.
