Kohima, November 10: Sechü-Zubza Football Club and Nyenshen FC Tuensang won their respective matches to move into the pre-quarters of the ongoing 25th Classic Cup played here at Kohima local ground on Saturday.
In first match, Sechü-Zuba thrashed Golden Lion FC by a huge 12 goals to nil.
It was Petevizo opening the floodgates within the fourth minute of play while Hangleng Chang doubled the margin in 6th minute. Rhitsho Mero contributed a double hat-trick with seven goals in 9th, 14th, 25th, 30th, 44th, 46th, and 49th minutes, while Petevizo, Yhunshalo Kemp, Visalie Mezhu and Medoneituo also added a goal each in 15th, 42nd and 53rd minutes of play respectively.
Defending champions of Loyem Memorial Trophy came from behind to beat 10-man United Sporting Club 3-1 in the second match of the day.
United SC took the first lead in the injury added time of the first half but Nyenshen returned to the game in 44th minute through Imlong Chaba while Vekhuto Resu netted the lead in 47th minute and Kakhevi sealed the win with the third goal in 58th minute. The two winners will clash in the pre-quarters November 14.
