25 villages’ union grateful

Dimapur, June 24: 25 Villages’ Union under Longleng District has expressed gratitude on behalf of Phom people to Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, Minister for Higher and Technical Education, Imna Along Longkumer, Minister for Health & Family Welfare, S. Pangnyu Phom and the Department of Higher Technical for timely laying the foundation stone of the Polytechnic Institute in Hukphang, Longleng.
With the laying of the foundation stone, the PDA Government under Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio has fulfilled the long cherished dream of the Phom people and younger generation and also it has proven that the PDA Government is for the people, said Lakmei Phom, convener, 25 villages and Lauphong Phom, general secretary, 25 villages.
The union said the decision of the Government to establish the institute in Hukphang, which is just 2 kms away from the Longleng town, is a sign of honouring the sentiment of the general public. “We firmly believe that this institution will truly serve our Phom people in particular and Nagas in general educationally,” it said.
Meanwhile, the union urged the Department to expedite the process for construction of building and assured cooperation for timely completion.
