23rd NSF Martyrs’ Memorial Trophy: Defending champs New Market FC enters QF

Kohima, September 28: Defending champion New Market Football Club today became the first team to enter the quarter finals of the 23rd NSF Martyrs’ Memorial Trophy organised by Angami Students’ Union (ASU) at Indira Gandhi Stadium Kohima.
Playing the second match of the day, the defending champs New Market FC blanked Mima FC by 4 goals.
Neisede Peseyie (23) scored the first goal in the 3rd minute while Khiuwamgbo (8) doubled the margin in the 6th minute.
Thejasetuo Gwerie (7) scored 2 goals in the 24th and 81st minute.
Khiuwamgbo (8) of New Market FC was awarded man of the match by Vikholie Yiese, Political Assistant to Minister for Women Resource Development and Horticulture, Salhoutono Kruse.
Earlier in the first match, Red Scars FC also blanked All Nagaland Two Wheelers Taxi Association (ANTWTA) by 6 goals.
Shalo Kemp (9) gave the first lead through a bicycle kick in the 32nd minute and also added 2 more goals in the 35th and 49th minutes of the game. Sentisang (17), Asito Krose (8) and Sinlo (11) added a goal each in the 46th, 55th and 66th minutes respectively.
Akuo Zhasa, former ASU leader, presented the man of the match to Sinlo kent (11) of Red Scars FC.
