Dimapur, January 24: The 23rd M.B.E. Zhuikhu Memorial Trophy organised by Western Sumi Sports Association (WSSA) got underway this morning at Nikhekhu village. Member of Nagaland Legislative Assembly, Azheto Zhimomi kicked off the tournament as special guest.
In his speech, Azheto said nations are built through sports besides bringing peace between different nations as he encouraged the youth of Nagaland that there is vast scope in the field of games and sports. He further enthused the participants to give the best in exhibition of their talent and also to participate in true spirit of sports.
Lauding the effort of WSSA in providing a platform to the youth, he called upon the association to put in more effort to produce more quality players in the days to come.
On creation of Niuland district, MLA Azheto thanked the government of Nagaland and Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio for fulfilling the dreams and aspirations of the people of Niuland. He urged upon the people to live in peace and harmony and to support the government for development and progress of the district. (Page News Service)
