Kohima, October 11: Centurion Football Club, Kohima Village and Meriema Village Youth Organisation have booked their semi-final berths of the ongoing 20th edition of NSF Martyrs’ Memorial Trophy organized by Angami Students’ Union at Local Ground here.
In a close shave first quarter final match, Centurion FC defeated Chumukedima Town Youth Organisation by a solitary. Mention may be made here that the match was played yesterday, however incessant rain and foggy weather condition played spoil sports and after playing 88 minutes, the match had to be postponed for today. The remaining two minutes played today also ended in a goalless draw, but the dying minutes of extra time saw Centurion FC booking the semi-final berth through Yhunshalo Kemp.
Playing the second quarter final last’s years runners-up Meriema Village YO defeated Kohima Village Students’ Union by 2-0.
Vizotuolie (10) opened the score line for in 39th minute while within the next minute Keneisezo (6) doubled the margin. The second half did not have any decisive moves from both sides.
Kenei (9) of Meriema Village was cautioned for unsporting behavior.
President of Angami Public Organisation Dr. Kepelhousie Terhüja was the match patron for the second quarter-final.
