Dimapur, January 2: The Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) has called upon Nagas to commit to practice spiritual values of Christian-ship in all activities and receive 365 days of opportunities in 2019.
In a New Year’s greeting to the citizens of the State, NPCC president K Therie said, “2019 is the year of hope and opportunities. May the Lord of Lords make the year 2019 a fulfilling year.”
To avail the year of opportunities ahead both in politics and economy in the nation and State, Therie said the people must decide to achieve common political objective “that is solution and an economy that is through clean governance.”
“Together only we can turn the table in favour of the common people,” he said.
Lamenting that in recent years, Nagas have suffered division after divisions, the NPCC president said the friction between the divisions be it religion, tribalism, factions, social organisations, associations and unions have destroyed the primary goal of life, which he said, is happiness.
“The divisions have blinded the society losing sight of a common goal, objective and the sense of oneness.”
“The instinct of I want more is out of control while individualism has become the philosophy. We have turned to become one of the most individualist society members, perhaps in the World. Welfare of commoners is only skin deep. Every leader speaks of welfare while the instinct of I want more actually controls more at the level of those that have power. Naked corruption, lies, selfishness, cheating are characters we experience in daily news.”
Stating that law and order has been completely side-lined, while spiritual values are not practiced in life especially in dealings in governance, the NPCC wished Nagas to commit to practice spiritual values of Christian-ship in all activities and receive 365 days of opportunities in 2019.
