2 houses gutted in Kohima

Kohima, December 10: Two houses were razed to the ground late this evening at Merhulietsa Colony, Kohima at around 8.30 p.m.
Chairman of Merhulietsa colony informed that one thatch house which lies above SBI ATM booth at Merhulietsa colony was razed to the ground while a medical department quarter adjacent was partially burnt.
While the cause of the fire was not known, authorities suspect “short circuit” as the cause of the fire.
But there were though contradictory reports regarding the cause of the fire.
The chairman of the colony also confirmed that there was no casualty, and the owner of the thatch house was away when the incident happened.
