Kohima, March 20: Police and public of VK Area have apprehended two persons in connection with the killing of a Government employee on March 18 night near Mukhami village.
The two accused from Mukhami village under VK area in Zunheboto district were apprehended today by police and public in connection. The victim was Lunkholal Singson, who was working in the Department of Veterinary and Animal Husbandry at Aichisaghami in Zunheboto district as VFA.
The main killer identified as Puloka Awomi, son of Abel Awomi of Mukhami village and his accomplice have been arrested. Later the two murderers were paraded at VK Town and handed over to the law enforcing agencies for further action. The infuriated public demanded that the two killers be handed over to them for punitive action.
The people of VK Area have demanded the Government to initiate strongest action against the murderers.
Source said Singson was dragged out of the night super bus bound for Dimapur at Doyang by Puloka claiming to be cadre of NSCN (IM) and later demanded Rs 2 lakh from the victim’s wife. But later the victim’s family members could not contact the killers as the phone was switched off.
Militants and criminals have been prowling the area due to its strategic location by the Public of VK Area have already passed a resolution that they will strictly deal with the anti-social elements in the area
DoAH&V, orgs condemns
The Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary and (AH&V) Services has expressed grief at the cold blooded murder of late Lunkholal Singson, Veterinary Field Assistant of Aichi Saghemi Veterinary Health Centre (VHC) by unscrupulous persons.
“It is disheartening to know that Late Singson was travelling from his place of posting in Zunheboto to Dimapur on 17th of March, 2018 but was detained near Mukhami by some armed miscreants while his dead body was recovered today by the police from another neighbouring village area,” the department said.
Condemning such horrendous act committed upon an innocent government servant, the department urged the concerned authority to initiate exemplary punishment on the culprits.
It also prayed for solace to the bereaved family and eternal rest and peace to the departed soul.
VKAGBA: The VK Area GBs’ Association (VKAGBA) has vehemently condemned the murder of Lunkholal Singson (Alal Singson) by Puloka Awomi, son of Abel Awomi and Pikato Shohe, son of Hetovi Shohe, both of Mukhami village, on Sunday in Mukhami village jurisdiction.
According to a statement of Nitoi Assumi, GB and chairman of VKAGBA, Lunkholal Singson who was an employee of veterinary department and posted at Ayichi Saghemi was reportedly abducted near Mukhami village on Saturday night while travelling in a Zunheboto-Dimapur night super bus.
The GBs’ association cautioned anybody trying to bail out the two arrested by the police and urged the police and administration to thorough and apprehend anyone found to be involved directly or indirectly in the abduction and cold blooded killing and initiate most stringent punishment as per the law of land.
The VKAGBA also lauded the effort of EAC V.K and OC V.K Pemkhah Konyak in quick arrest of the two accused and recovery of the dead body.
VKAGBA also resolved to initiate action as per Sumi customary law against all those involved in the gruesome act of crime, which has tarnished the image of VK area.
The association further conveyed deepest condolences to the near and dear ones of the victim.
VDBA Medziphema: The VDB Association Medziphema Block has strongly condemned the killing of Nunkholal Singson, VDB secretary Sirhima Village by some miscreants on March 17 at Mukhami Village, P.S. VK Town under Zunheboto District.
The association urged that the culprits be booked under stringent law of the land and not to grant bail to the accused persons. It further urged all the factions to cooperate in the case if any of their members is/are found involved in the incident.
The VDB Association Medziphema Block also extended condolences to th bereaved family. (Page News Service)
